Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Thursday's session

In the Nifty pack, 42 stocks closed in the green, while 8 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 874.18 points up at 57911.68 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Captain Technocast(down 16.76 per cent), Regency Investments(down 11.17 per cent), Seacoast Shipping(down 11.06 per cent), Hindusthan Urban Inf(down 10.63 per cent) and Rajeswari Infra(down 9.95 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 42 stocks closed in the green, while 8 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 256.05 points up at 17392.6.

On the BSE, Seacoast Shipping, Kanungo Financiers, Indo-Global Enterpri, Nivaka Fashions and Manraj Housing hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Zim Laboratories, HB Stockholding, Bansal Roofing Prod., Prerna Infra and GKP Printing & Pack touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
