Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Thursday's session

In the Nifty pack, 27 stocks closed in the green, while 23 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 141.34 points up at 77478.93 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Angel Fibers(down 17.10 per cent), GCM Capital Adv.(down 9.89 per cent), Shelter Infra(down 9.60 per cent), Starteck Finance(down 9.37 per cent) and Lahoti Overseas(down 7.95 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 27 stocks closed in the green, while 23 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 51.0 points up at 23567.0.

On the BSE, Kamadgiri Fash, M M Rubber, Vaksons Automobiles, PS IT Infra and SecUR Credentials hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Worldwide Aluminium, Gini Silk Mills, C.E. Info Systems, FACT and Rashtriya Chemicals touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
