Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Friday's session

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 303.38 points up at 54481.84 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Alan Scott Industrie(down 13.53 per cent), Wallfort Fin(down 10.04 per cent), JLAInfraville&Shop(down 9.80 per cent), Polytex India(down 9.72 per cent) and Upasana Finance(down 9.60 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 34 stocks closed in the green, while 15 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 87.7 points up at 16220.6.

On the BSE, Vikas Proppant & Gr, Parsvnath Dev., Sathavahana Isp, Andhra Cements and Kemp & Co hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Morarka Finance, TCPL Packaging, Arman Financial, Monte Carlo Fashion and Sailani Tours N Travels Ltd. touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
