Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Friday's session

In the Nifty pack, 42 stocks closed in the green, while 6 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 1359.51 points up at 84544.31 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Rossell India(down 73.30 per cent), Veer Global Infraconstruction(down 14.81 per cent), Dr Habeebullah(down 9.99 per cent), SM Auto(down 9.99 per cent) and Modern Steels(down 9.99 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 42 stocks closed in the green, while 6 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 375.16 points up at 25790.95.

On the BSE, Rossell India, Amarnath Securities, Lakhotia Poly, GSS Infotech and Mahalaxmi Fabric Mil hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Sangal Papers, Arnold Holdings, Marksans Pharma, Sobha (PP)and Concord Biotech Ltd. touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
