NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 1618.85 points up at 76693.36 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Haria Apparels(down 11.26 per cent), Stellar Capital Svcs(down 10.00 per cent), Rajputana Investment(down 9.98 per cent), Devine Impex(down 9.94 per cent) and Futuristic Sol(down 9.33 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
In the Nifty pack, 48 stocks closed in the green, while 2 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 468.75 points up at 23290.15.
On the BSE, Eureka Ind, Morarjee Text, Tirupati Tyres, Heera Ispat and Unistar Multi hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Zenith Exports, IIFL Securities, Pennar Ind, AdityaBirlaMoney and Associated Alcohols & Breweries touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
