Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Friday's session

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 629.07 points up at 62501.69 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Ekennis Software Ser(down 20.00 per cent), Kesar India(down 18.67 per cent), Technopack Polymers(down 17.69 per cent), Ashapura Mine(down 16.96 per cent) and Shree Hari Chem(down 14.57 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 44 stocks closed in the green, while 5 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 178.2 points up at 18499.35.

On the BSE, Page Industries, Dhanalaxmi Roto, Soni Medicare L, Bheema Cements Ltd. and R J Bio Tech Lt hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Shree Krishna Infras, Valencia Nutrition L, Mazda Ltd, Nucleus Soft and Ecoplast Ltd touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
