Sensex rises! But these stocks are down 5% or more on BSE

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 6.8 points up at 54059.41 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Emkay Global(down 18.31 per cent), SMIFS Capital(down 13.99 per cent), Stanrose Mafat(down 12.05 per cent), Jonjua Overseas(down 9.96 per cent) and Athena Constructions(down 9.95 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.

In the Nifty pack, 29 stocks traded in the green, while 21 stocks traded in the red.


The Nifty index was trading 2.05 points up at 16127.2.

On the BSE, AGS Transact Technologies Ltd., Alkyl Amines, Va Tech Wabag and New Light Apparels hit their fresh 52-week lows, while ST Corporation, Kohinoor Foods, Indrayani Bio, Frontline Corp and Venus Pipes & Tubes Ltd. touched their fresh 52-week highs.
