Sensex rises! But these stocks are down 5% or more on BSE

In the Nifty pack, 33 stocks were trading in the green, while 17 stocks were trading in the red.

Nifty moved in a tight range of 82 points, and ended slightly below the psychologically crucial level of 15,700.
NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 254.38 points up at 76978.46 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Purple Entertainment(down 14.14 per cent), Skyline Ventures(down 9.76 per cent), City Crops Agro(down 9.37 per cent), Envair Electro(down 7.37 per cent) and Raj Packaging(down 7.07 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.

In the Nifty pack, 33 stocks traded in the green, while 17 stocks traded in the red.


The Nifty index was trading 89.85 points at 23303.05.

On the BSE, Alliance Int., Noida Toll Bridge Co, Quadrant Tele, Fredun Pharma and Gopala Poly hit their fresh 52-week lows, while DJS Stock & Shares Ltd., Goldiam Intnl, Benares Hotels, Pearl Global and Octal Credit Capital touched their fresh 52-week highs.
