NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 984.23 points down at 77690.95 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, AccelerateBS India(down 20.00 per cent), SM Auto(down 20.00 per cent), Loyal Textiles(down 19.99 per cent), Polychem Ltd(down 19.99 per cent) and Sai Swami Metals and(down 19.03 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
In the Nifty pack, 1 stocks closed in the green, while 4 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 324.41 points at 23559.05.
On the BSE, Loyal Textiles, Vinyoflex Ltd, Nat Gen Ind, Satia Industries and Fairchem Organics hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Kilpest India, Tera Software, Windsor Machine, Asia Pack Ltd and Helpage Finlease touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
