NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 287.7 points down at 59543.96 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Pecos Hotels & Pubs(down 18.82 per cent), Wherrelz IT Solutions Ltd.(down 15.97 per cent), Indo-City Info(down 12.79 per cent), Pioneer Invest(down 12.71 per cent) and Superior Finlease(down 12.55 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
In the Nifty pack, 20 stocks closed in the green, while 29 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 74.4 points down at 17656.35.
On the BSE, Shubham Polyspin, Tatia Global, Union Quality, Kesar Enterpr and Globus Spirits hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Cargosol Logistics Ltd., South Indian Bnk, Tips Films Ltd., DC Infotech and CMS Info Systems Ltd. touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
