NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 508.62 points down at 53886.61 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Goel Food Products Ltd.(down 16.38 per cent), Wardwizard Innov(down 14.06 per cent), Rita Finance and Leasing Ltd.(down 11.67 per cent), Vikas Proppant & Gr(down 11.02 per cent) and Aravali Sec Fin(down 10.86 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
In the Nifty pack, 7 stocks closed in the green, while 43 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 157.7 points down at 16058.3.
On the BSE, Goel Food Products Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Gr, Arshiya, Gemstone Invst and Kkalpana lndustries hit their fresh 52-week lows, while AGI Infra Ltd., Morarka Finance, Maximus Intl., PC Jeweller and Akme Star Housing touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
