NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 4389.73 points down at 72079.05 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, REC(down 25.15 per cent), Power Finance Corp.(down 22.99 per cent), Adani Ports SEZ(down 21.26 per cent), BHEL(down 20.94 per cent) and Adishakti Loha(down 20.00 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
In the Nifty pack, 8 stocks closed in the green, while 42 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 1379.41 points down at 21884.5.
On the BSE, Bodhi Tree Multimedia, Ibull Housing Fin(PP), Cosmo Ferrites, Signpost India and Anmol India hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Shree Ganesh Remedies, Everlon Synth, Heritage Foods, Bazel International and Sylph Education Solutions touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
