NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 638.11 points down at 56788.81 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Gennex Labs(down 19.80 per cent), Shantidoot Infra Services Ltd.(down 17.67 per cent), Ansal Housing(down 13.36 per cent), Modern Steels(down 11.08 per cent) and Mukesh Babu Fin(down 10.37 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
In the Nifty pack, 9 stocks closed in the green, while 41 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 207.0 points down at 16887.35.
On the BSE, Shantidoot Infra Services Ltd., Ansal Housing, Gayatri Project, Proseed India and Systematix Corp hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Rhetan TMT Ltd., APM Industries, Cochin Shipyard, Liberty Shoes and Shivalik Bimetal touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
