NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 1258.12 points down at 77964.99 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, PlatinumOne Business(down 13.58 per cent), Samyak Intnl(down 13.36 per cent), Confidence Futuristic Energetech(down 12.07 per cent), Gini Silk Mills(down 11.81 per cent) and Modern Shares(down 11.53 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
In the Nifty pack, 4 stocks closed in the green, while 46 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 388.71 points at 23616.05.
On the BSE, Jai Corp, Shervani Ind, Dai Ichi Kark, Ugar Sugar Work and Ecos(India)Mobilit hit their fresh 52-week lows, while ITI Ltd, Mangal Credit, Thyrocare Tech., Hi-Tech Winding Systems and Betex India touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
