NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 714.53 points down at 57197.15 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Birla Tyres(down 11.23 per cent), FutureLifestyleFash(down 10.60 per cent), Dr. Lalchandani Labs(down 10.11 per cent), Panth Infinity(down 9.96 per cent) and Purple Entertainment(down 9.77 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
In the Nifty pack, 8 stocks closed in the green, while 42 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 220.65 points down at 17171.95.
On the BSE, PrismxGlobalVent(PP), Birla Tyres, Kanungo Financiers, Nivaka Fashions and Kabra Drugs hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Laffans Petro, Mewar Hi-Tech Engine, Rudra Global Infra, Zim Laboratories and Sky Industries touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
