NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 841.04 points down at 57992.83 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Diggi Multitrade(down 19.92 per cent), Simplex Mills(down 19.12 per cent), Purple Entertainment(down 15.48 per cent), Cravatex Ltd(down 12.22 per cent) and Aditya Ispat(down 10.00 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 8 stocks traded in the green, while 42 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 247.15 points down at 17311.75.
On the BSE, Terrascope Ventures, Gagan Polycot, Bombay Rayon, Meglon InfraReal and Kushal hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Bimetal Bearing, Goel Food Products Ltd., King Infra Ventures, Anik Industries and Data Patterns(India)Ltd. touched their fresh 52-week highs.
