NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 444.66 points down at 56911.95 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, CARE Ratings (down 14.35 per cent), Pranavaditya Spn(down 13.60 per cent), NDA Securities(down 10.91 per cent), Arcee Ind(down 9.90 per cent) and Tarapur Trans(down 9.89 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.

In the Nifty pack, 3 stocks traded in the green, while 47 stocks traded in the red.


The Nifty index was trading 151.6 points down at 17049.2.

On the BSE, CARE Ratings, Future Consumer, Karda Const, PrismxGlobalVent(PP)and Wardwizard Innov(PP)hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Poona Dal Oil, Advait Infratech, Rita Finance and Leasing Ltd., Veranda Learning Solutions Ltd. and Filatex Fash touched their fresh 52-week highs.
