NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 703.1 points down at 58222.93 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Kaarya Facilities(down 19.87 per cent), Bajaj Steel(down 18.99 per cent), Solara Active Pharma(down 17.61 per cent), Blue Chip Tex(down 15.33 per cent) and Rana Sugars(down 11.97 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 5 stocks traded in the green, while 45 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 212.5 points down at 17393.35.
On the BSE, Solara Active Pharma, Neuland Labs, GE Power India, Nuvoco Vistas Corporation Ltd. and Forbes Company hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Tai Industries, NDTV, Aryaman Fin, Ganges Securities and Orient Refractories touched their fresh 52-week highs.
