NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 221.04 points down at 60600.58 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, H S India(down 19.69 per cent), S R Industries(down 18.18 per cent), RMC Switchgears(down 15.08 per cent), Sahyadri Ind(down 14.77 per cent) and Ami Organics Ltd.(down 12.75 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 8 stocks traded in the green, while 42 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 93.6 points down at 18021.3.
On the BSE, Huhtamaki PPL, Krsnaa Diagnostics Ltd., Vax Housing Fin, MPS Infotecnics and Sparkling(India)hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Bharat Agri Fert, ICICI Bank, Arihant Found, Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem Ltd. and Shardul Sec touched their fresh 52-week highs.
