Sensex falls! But these stocks surged over 5% on BSE

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Friday's trade as Dalal Street closed lower for the day.

Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session down 111.01 points at 52907.93.

The top gainers included Super Tex Ind(up 10.0%), Nilachal Refrac(up 9.96%), Nila Infra(up 9.94%), Supreme Infra(up 9.94%), Roopa Ind(up 9.91%), Akshar Spintex(up 9.9%), Saksoft Ltd(up 9.86%), Vardhman Poly(up 9.77%), Novartis India(up 9.57%) and Sri Lakshmi Sar(up 9.5%) which surged over 5% in today's trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as ITC(up 3.97%), Bajaj Finance(up 3.96%), Bajaj Finserv(up 3.57%), Cipla(up 3.50%) and Britannia(up 3.40%) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty 50 index ended 28.2 points down at 15752.05.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 38 shares ended in the green, while 12 closed in the red.
