Sensex falls! But these stocks surged over 5% on BSE

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Wednesday's trade as Dalal Street closed lower for the day.

Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session down 109.94 points at 54208.53.

The top gainers included IVP Ltd(up 10.0%), Sharp India(up 10.0%), P H Capital(up 10.0%), Panacea Biotec(up 10.0%), Quint Digital Media(up 9.99%), BNK Cap Market(up 9.99%), Unison Metals(up 9.98%), Kanoria Chem(up 9.98%), MRPL(up 9.98%) and Gorani Ind(up 9.97%) which surged over 5% in today's trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as Tata Consumer(up 2.73%), Shree Cements(up 2.11%), HUL(up 2.07%), UltraTech Cem.(up 2.06%) and Cipla(up 2.04%) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty 50 index ended 19.0 points down at 16240.30.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 26 shares ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
