Sensex falls! But these stocks surged over 5% on BSE

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Monday's trade as Dalal Street closed lower for the day.

Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session down 364.91 points at 54470.67.

The top gainers included Shree Bhavya Fabric(up 10.0%), Alan Scott Industrie(up 10.0%), Sujala Trading(up 10.0%), Super Fine Knitters(up 10.0%), Lancer Container Lin(up 9.99%), Goldcrest Corporati(up 9.97%), Mukta Agriculture(up 9.97%), Chennai Ferrous Indu(up 9.95%), Nila Spaces L(up 9.72%) and RCI Industries & Te(up 9.51%) which surged over 5% in today's trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as Power Grid(up 2.83%), HCL Tech(up 2.47%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.97%), Infosys(up 1.78%) and Divis Labs(up 1.57%) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty 50 index ended 109.4 points down at 16301.85.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 19 shares ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.
