Sensex falls! But these stocks surged over 5% on BSE

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Thursday's trade as Dalal Street closed lower for the day.

Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session down 2702.15 points at 54529.91.

The top gainers included Focus Business Solution Ltd.(up 9.99%), Oil Country Tub(up 9.98%), Goldcrest Corporati(up 9.97%), Decillion Finance(up 9.94%), Shelter Infra(up 9.74%), Elegant Marbles(up 8.62%), Asahi Songwon(up 7.82%), HKG Ltd(up 7.69%), Cospower Engg (up 7.69%) and Federal Mogul(up 5.59%) which surged over 5% in today's trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as Hindalco(up -0.20%), Nestle India(up -1.01%), Britannia(up -1.86%), Cipla(up -2.09%) and ONGC(up -2.55%) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty 50 index ended 815.3 points down at 16247.95.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 0 shares ended in the green, while 50 closed in the red.
