Sensex falls! But these stocks surged over 5% on BSE

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Tuesday's trade as Dalal Street closed lower for the day.

Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session down 195.71 points at 57064.87.

The top gainers included Panchsheel Org(up 10.0%), Mindteck India(up 9.99%), Mukta Arts(up 9.99%), Capital Trade Links(up 9.96%), Vegetable Products(up 9.91%), Shreeji Translogisti(up 9.65%), Sagarsoft(India)(up 9.53%), KDDL Ltd(up 9.46%), Ratnamani Metal(up 9.12%) and Technocraft Ind(up 9.07%) which surged over 5% in today's trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as Power Grid(up 3.25%), Titan Company (up 2.21%), SBI Life(up 2.14%), Shree Cements(up 2.10%) and Bajaj Finserv(up 2.05%) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty 50 index ended 70.75 points down at 16983.20.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 21 shares ended in the green, while 29 closed in the red.
