Sensex falls! But these stocks surged over 5% on BSE

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Friday's trade as Dalal Street closed lower for the day.

Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session down 880.34 points at 79454.47.

The top gainers included Borosil Renewables(up 9.99%), Sujala Trading(up 9.79%), YES Bank(up 9.76%), Gajanan Sec. Serv.(up 9.43%), G G Dandekar(up 9.38%), B&A Ltd(up 9.07%), Indo Euro Ind(up 9.01%), United Interactive(up 8.94%), Zenith Birla(up 8.85%) and Vamshi Rubber(up 8.45%) which surged over 5% in today's trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as Titan Company (up 4.19%), Tata Motors(up 3.76%), L&T(up 3.62%), BEL(up 2.84%) and Hero MotoCorp(up 1.41%) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty 50 index ended 265.8 points down at 24008.0.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 11 shares ended in the green, while 39 closed in the red.
