Sensex falls! But these stocks surged over 5% on BSE

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Friday's trade as Dalal Street closed lower for the day.

Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session down 197.97 points at 77860.19.

The top gainers included Skyline Ventures(up 10.00%), Creative Eye(up 10.00%), Hexa Tradex(up 10.00%), JSL Industries(up 9.99%), Southern Infosys(up 9.99%), FGP Ltd(up 9.99%), Baroda Extrusion(up 9.97%), RR Financial(up 9.97%), Rubra Medica(up 9.93%) and Crestchem Ltd(up 9.78%) which surged over 5% in today's trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as Tata Steel(up 4.36%), Bharti Airtel(up 3.52%), JSW Steel(up 3.42%), Trent(up 3.36%) and Hindalco(up 2.01%) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty 50 index ended 43.4 points down at 23559.95.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 27 shares ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.
