Sensex falls! But these stocks surged over 5% on BSE

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Monday's trade as Dalal Street closed lower for the day.

Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session down 1048.9 points at 76330.01.

The top gainers included Atlas Cycles(up 9.99%), Hilltone Soft&Gases(up 9.99%), Hindustan Agrigenetics Ltd.(up 9.99%), Uravi T and Wedge(up 9.87%), J. Taparia Proj(up 9.77%), Kreon Financial(up 8.77%), Multipurpose Trading & Agencies(up 8.67%), CL Educate(up 8.56%), Baid Leasing(up 8.39%) and GRM Overseas(up 8.06%) which surged over 5% in today's trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as Axis Bank(up 0.83%), TCS(up 0.60%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.44%), HUL(up 0.37%) and RIL(up -0.17%) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty 50 index ended 345.55 points down at 23085.95.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 4 shares ended in the green, while 46 closed in the red.
