Sensex falls! But these stocks rallied over 15% on BSE in today's trade

NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Duncan Engineering (20.0%), BSL Ltd(19.99%), Rhetan TMT Ltd.(19.98%), Generic Pharmasec(19.77%), CMI Ltd(18.95%) and Wardwizard Innov(PP)(16.2%).

The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 638.11 points down at 56788.81, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 207.0 points down at 16887.35.


In the Nifty50 index, 9 stocks closed in the green, while 41 stocks ended in the red.

Meanwhile, stocks such as Rhetan TMT Ltd., APM Industries, Cochin Shipyard, Liberty Shoes and Shivalik Bimetal hit their fresh 52-week high, while Shantidoot Infra Services Ltd., Ansal Housing, Gayatri Project, Proseed India and Systematix Corp touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
