Sensex falls! But these stocks rallied over 15% on BSE in today's trade

NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Nagpur Power(20.0%), Rel Ind Infra(20.0%), Jai Corp(19.99%), Proseed India (19.97%), Rita Finance and Leasing Ltd.(19.96%), Poona Dal Oil(19.95%), Advait Infratech(19.27%), Stellar Capital Svcs(17.45%), Manaksia Steels(16.72%) and Alok Industries(16.56%).

The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 537.22 points down at 56819.39, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 162.4 points down at 17038.4.


In the Nifty50 index, 10 stocks closed in the green, while 40 stocks ended in the red.

Meanwhile, stocks such as Rita Finance and Leasing Ltd., Poona Dal Oil, Advait Infratech, Stellar Capital Svcs and Omaxe hit their fresh 52-week high, while Future Consumer, CARE Ratings, Wardwizard Innov(PP), Indiabulls Intgrtd and Asian Granito touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
