Sensex falls! But these stocks rallied over 15% on BSE in today's trade

NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Sukhjit Starch(19.99%), TV18 Broadcast(19.92%), Atam Valves(19.89%), Jointeca Edu(19.65%), Emkay Global(19.52%), Ambica Agarbathies & Aroma Industries Ltd.(18.71%), Thyrocare Tech.(16.8%) and Punjab Alkalies(15.77%).

The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 581.21 points down at 57276.94, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 167.8 points down at 17110.15.


In the Nifty50 index, 15 stocks closed in the green, while 35 stocks ended in the red.

Meanwhile, stocks such as Sukhjit Starch, TV18 Broadcast, Jointeca Edu, Ambica Agarbathies & Aroma Industries Ltd. and Punjab Alkalies hit their fresh 52-week high, while IndiaMART, CarTrade Tech, S R G Sec. Fin., Fabino Life Sciences Ltd. and Hind Nat Glass touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
