Sensex falls! But these stocks rallied over 15% on BSE in today's trade

NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Baba Arts(20.0%), Ambica Agarbathies & Aroma Industries Ltd.(19.96%), Intense Tech(19.95%), IFB Agro(19.45%), Dhampure Special(18.47%), Ambalal Sarabhai(16.42%), The Andhra Sugars (16.25%) and Cambridge Tech(16.06%).

The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 634.2 points down at 59464.62, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 181.4 points down at 17757.0.


In the Nifty50 index, 15 stocks closed in the green, while 35 stocks ended in the red.

Meanwhile, stocks such as IFB Agro, The Andhra Sugars, Cambridge Tech, Cenlub Ind and Artefact Proj hit their fresh 52-week high, while Brandbucket Media & Technology Ltd., Superior Finlease, Ovobel Foods Ltd, Lerthai Finance and Indo-Global Enterpri touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
