Sensex falls! But these stocks rallied over 15% on BSE in today's trade

NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Salem Erode Invest(19.99%), Emmessar Biotech(19.98%), Sarthak Ind(19.98%), Viji Finance(19.92%) and LE Travenues Techno(19.73%).

The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 375.24 points down at 82259.24, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 100.6 points down at 25111.45.


In the Nifty50 index, 19 stocks closed in the green, while 31 stocks ended in the red.

Meanwhile, stocks such as Salem Erode Invest, Sarthak Ind, LE Travenues Techno, Kinetic Engg and Kalpa Commercial Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week high, while Trans Financial, LCC Infotech, SPS Intnl, Mercury Trade Links and Suncity Synth touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
