Sensex falls! But these stocks rallied over 15% on BSE in today's trade

NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, KIFS Financial(19.99%), Ambar Protein Ind(19.99%), Alfa Ica(19.99%), Universus Photo(19.99%), Crown Tours(19.98%), Ebixcash World Money(19.97%), U Y Fincorp(19.96%), Shikhar Consultants Ltd.(19.83%), Sambhv Steel Tubes(19.00%) and Narendra Investments(16.55%).

The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 287.6 points down at 83409.69, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 88.4 points down at 25453.4.


In the Nifty50 index, 23 stocks closed in the green, while 27 stocks ended in the red.

Meanwhile, stocks such as Ambar Protein Ind, Shikhar Consultants Ltd., Gabriel India, TN Telecom and Prime Focus hit their fresh 52-week high, while Euro Leder Fash, Jindal Worldwide, Sadhana Nitro, Nutricircle and Brand Realty touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
