Sensex falls! But these stocks rallied over 15% on BSE in today's trade

NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Bhaskar Agro(20.00%), Fmec International Financial(19.99%), VMV Holidays Ltd.(19.74%) and Sea TV Network(15.15%).

The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 46.14 points down at 80242.24, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 1.75 points down at 24334.2.


In the Nifty50 index, 24 stocks closed in the green, while 26 stocks ended in the red.

Meanwhile, stocks such as Parsharti Invst, Ind Link Chain, United Leasing, Soni Medicare and Gujarat Natural hit their fresh 52-week high, while Alstone Textiles, Welcast Steels, National Standard, Maha Corp Ltd and Shanti Educational touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
