Sensex falls! But these stocks rallied over 15% on BSE in today's trade

NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Saptak Chem(19.88%), Sumeru Ind(19.38%), Carraro India L(16.44%), Manaksia Steels(15.06%) and Butterfly Gandhi(15.05%).

The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 588.9 points down at 79212.53, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 207.36 points down at 24039.35.


In the Nifty50 index, 9 stocks closed in the green, while 41 stocks ended in the red.

Meanwhile, stocks such as Vivid Mercantile, Country Condos, Trident Texofab, Oswal Overseas and Rubra Medica hit their fresh 52-week high, while KIC Metaliks, VMV Holidays Ltd., Raw Edge Industrial, Goyal Associate and Hilton Metal touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
