Sensex falls! But these stocks rallied over 15% on BSE in today's trade

NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Coffee Day Ent(20.00%), Kachchh Mineral(20.00%), Jupiter Infomed(19.98%), Bloom Ind(18.29%), Hindustan Motor(18.25%), Envair Electro(18.11%), MPS Ltd(17.84%), J. Taparia Proj(17.30%), IB Infotech Enterprises(17.25%) and B C Power Controls(16.96%).

The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 96.01 points down at 72989.93, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 36.65 points down at 22082.65.


In the Nifty50 index, 23 stocks closed in the green, while 27 stocks ended in the red.

Meanwhile, stocks such as TCPL Packaging, Covance Softsol L, Sobhagya Mercantile, Bio Green Paper and Adhata Global Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week high, while Gensol Engg, HKG Ltd, Veerhealth Care, Arnold Holdings and Amarnath Securities touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
