Sensex falls! But these stocks are up over 5% on BSE

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Monday's trade on Dalal Street as benchmark Sensex traded 312.63 points down at 57049.57 level on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Among these top gainers were DMR Hydroengineering & Infrastructure Ltd.(up 10.0%), Shyam Century Ferro(up 9.95%), Premier Synth(up 9.94%), Walchand People(up 9.79%), EIH Associated(up 9.2%), Foseco India(up 9.15%), Modipon Ltd(up 8.75%), EIH(up 7.86%), Indian Sucrose(up 7.83%) and Narbada Gems(up 7.57%).

In the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers included Bajaj Auto(up 1.70%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.04%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.83%), Tata Consumer(up 0.82%) and Cipla(up 0.74%).


The Nifty 50 index was trading 85.6 points lower at 17067.40.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty pack, 12 shares traded in the green, while 37 traded in the red.
