Sensex falls! But these stocks are up over 5% on BSE

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Friday's trade on Dalal Street as benchmark Sensex traded 842.92 points down at 73769.51 level on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Among these top gainers were Padmanabh Alloys(up 9.98%), Mukat Pipes(up 9.63%), Spenta Intnl(up 9.55%), Megastar Foods(up 9.02%), Mewat Zinc(up 8.72%), Goyal Associate(up 8.33%), CCL Intnl(up 8.05%), Halder Venture(up 7.04%), Aplab(up 6.77%) and U P Hotels(up 6.65%).

In the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers included Coal India Ltd(up 2.46%), RIL(up 0.59%), Shriram Finance(up 0.55%), Grasim Inds.(up 0.44%) and HDFC Bank(up 0.29%).


The Nifty 50 index was trading 258.25 points lower at 22286.8.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty pack, 6 shares traded in the green, while 44 traded in the red.
