Piramal Ent. shares up 1.79% as Sensex rises

Shares of Piramal Enterprises Ltd. gained 1.79 per cent to Rs 817.1 in Friday's session as of 10:15AM (IST) even as the equity benchmark Sensex traded 1026.44 points higher at 58261.77.

Earlier in the day, the stock witnessed a gap up start to the session. The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 2876.7 and a 52-week low of Rs 796.5 on NSE. Around 12880 shares changed hands on the counter till 10:15AM (IST).

The stock opened at Rs 825.0 and has touched an intraday high and low of Rs 828.0 and Rs 813.0 during the session so far. The counter quoted a price-to-earnings (PE) ratio of 10.39, earnings per share (EPS) of Rs 78.76 and price to book value (PB) of 1.47, while the return on equity (ROE) stood at Rs 5.41.

The promoters held 43.49 per cent stake in the company as of October 14, while FII and MF ownerships stood at 34.54 per cent and 2.02 per cent, respectively.

For the quarter ended 30-Jun-2022, the company reported consolidated sales of Rs 3726.46 crore, down 15.33 per cent from the previous quarter?s Rs 4401.03 crore and down 23.74 per cent from the same quarter a year ago. The company reported net profit of Rs 496.09 crore for the latest quarter, down 8.03 per cent from the corresponding quarter last year.
