Sensex above 29,000; Nalco, GMR Infra, Deepak Nitrite surge over 5%

The BSE Sensex was trading 57.01 points up at 29,041.50 in the afternoon trade on Thursday on account of buying in frontline bluechip counters.

NEW DELHI: Indian equities on Thursday hit 52-week high, with stocks of Deepak Nitrite, Rain Industries, Cybertech Sys, Parabolic Drugs and CIL Nova Petro surging up to 8 per cent.

The BSE Sensex was trading 57.01 points up at 29,041.50 in the afternoon trade on Thursday on account of buying in frontline bluechip counters.

Shares of Nalco (up 5.24 per cent), Lakshmi Energy (up 5.26 per cent), ANG Industries (up 5.29 per cent) , Jubilant Foods (up 5.35 per cent) , GMR Infra (up 5.70 per cent) , CIL Nova Petro (up 6.09 per cent) , Parabolic Drugs (up 6.25 per cent) , Cybertech Sys (up 7.13 per cent) , Rain Industries (up 7.13 per cent) and Deepak Nitrite (up 8.23 per cent) are some of the stocks that rallied over 5 per cent intraday during the day.

In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as Tata Motors (up 3.62 per cent) , UltraTech Cem. (up 2.80 per cent) , Hero MotoCorp (up 2.58 per cent) , Bajaj Auto (up 2.17 per cent) , Coal India Ltd (up 1.70 per cent) , Hindalco (up 1.08 per cent) , Wipro (up 1.08 per cent) , ACC (up 0.97 per cent) , Ambuja Cements (up 0.87 per cent) were trading in green.

The Nifty 50 index was trading 13.55 points up at 8959.35 around 12.35 pm (IST).
