Wipro going to be the dark horse among IT names: Mehraboon Irani, Nirmal Bang Securities

In a chat with ET Now, Mehraboon Irani, Principal & Head-Private Client Group Business, Nirmal Bang Securities, talks about the IT stocks.

ET Now: What within the IT space is going to work? We have TCS coming up with its earnings this week as well.

Mehraboon Irani: If you are looking at growth, TCS is the best name. But if you are looking at something like implementation of things and turnaround, Wipro is going to be the dark horse.

Wipro had its own reasons to falter in the past. But today in terms of valuations over the last five years, Wipro is at a great position at the moment. I am not speaking on a relative basis of a comparison among TCS or Tech Mahindra or HCL Tech or Infosys. I am referring to the Wipro-versus-Wipro scenario.

Take a look at the valuations over the last five years. It shows Wipro today is at its lowest valuation in the last five years.

So, I would say Wipro would be the dark horse, with TCS being the strongest one.
