We are currently in a trading range of 7500 to 7800: Arvind Sanger, Geosphere Capital Management

In a chat with ET Now, Arvind Sanger, Managing Partner of Geosphere Capital Management, shares his views on the market. Excerpts:

ET Now:Just on the index, do you have a position on the Futures side right now? Are you taking a call or are you playing it via options?

Arvind Sanger: I am playing it directly through stocks. I do not have a view on the index itself. There are times when we do, but right now, we are in a trading range. However, I may change my view after my trip to Delhi.

ET Now: What is the trading range for now?

Arvind Sanger: The trading range right now is 7400/7500 to 7800. That is the range we are in and the earnings have not provided a breakout opportunity. However, we did not expect it to also. It is going to have to come from the virtuous cycle starting.

ET Now: Would a rate cut provide it?

Arvind Sanger: A rate cut could help if it were a surprise rate cut that comes out today, but I am not holding my breath on that one.
