Wait before buying NBFCs: Sangeeta Purushottam
NBFCs are wholesale borrowers, so they will tend to do well when liquidity is easy and you can buy at lower rates.
Sangeeta Purushottam: NBFCs I would wait for a while. The reason being that a lot of them are wholesale borrowers. So they will tend to do well when liquidity is easy and you can buy at lower rates. When you get into slightly tighter liquidity or higher interest rates, there could be risk of pressure on NIMs.
So far, some of them which are listed we are not yet seeing any signs of growth slowing down maybe because they cater a lot to the consumption story and on the ground, you are not really hearing of that happening but that risk is greater for NBFCs than for banks.
