Wait and watch for retail stocks: G Chokkalingam

"I would wait and watch the development on FDI front but as far as the concern on the market is concerned, I am a little worried about what’s happening in the parliament."

G Chokkalingam, Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer, Centrum Wealth Management, talks to ET Now on retail stocks.

What do you make of the possible limbo in the FDI rollout and thereby the impact on the stocks? What would you do with some of these stocks right now?

In fact we made some money out of these stocks in the last week. Of course right now I would wait and watch the development on FDI front but as far as the concern on the market is concerned, I am a little worried about what’s happening in the parliament.

Instead of looking at what's happening in France, rather I would look at what's happening in the parliament. This is the third time, the parliament is not allowed to function. So, we remain alerted and we need to keep watching it.

My fear is that if parliament does not function throughout this current session, we will have a problem. But still it is not time to press the panic button. There is a possibility of further outflow of foreign capital.
