VW incident unfortunate, but don't brush all auto makers with the same brush: Sudip Bandyopadhyay
In a chat with ET Now, market expert Sudip Bandyopadhyay, shares his view on the likely impact of Volkswagen's emission scandal on global auto industry.

ET Now: Is this tell-tale signs of how the global auto industry is at high risk?

Sudip Bandyopadhyay: Well it is an unfortunate incident. I would not like to comment beyond that. I do not think this is widespread across the industry. There are instances of corporate governance failure and that is what is getting demonstrated here.

There was a tremendous pressure on Volkswagen internally and externally to become the world's largest automobile seller. They were competing for the top slot with Toyota. Short cuts were made and they did things which were funny. And now they are suffering.

But, I do not think every automobile company should be painted with the same brush. There are companies which are following the rules. There are companies which are doing the things right. So yes, it is unfortunate. Yes, a lot of automobile ancillary companies from India are getting impacted both in the market and even business-wise. But I do not think that we should generalize and look at the specific instances and then only talk about it.
