Urban theme looks good given the deficient monsoon: Pankaj Pandey, ICICIdirect.com

In an interview with ET Now, Pankaj Pandey, HoR-ICICIdirect.com, shares views on urban consumption:

ET Now: Is there merit in revisiting urban consumption names, if inflation comes down which it has, obviously the uptick in demand would be strong and also the two more factors which will drive demand or consumption are that soon the Pay Commission will come out with the revised package and then the benefits of one rank pension will flow through the next 12 months?

Pankaj Pandey: Given the kind of deficient monsoon which we had, probably the urban theme looks far more better and which is why we have been continuing to be positive on select names like some of the names which I have already mentioned like Voltas, you have a company like Pidilite, we like the paint manufacturers, both Asian Paints and Kansai Nerolac, in addition to that Kajaria Ceramics, so these are the kind of names which we believe that should benefit from the urban consumption.
