Torrent Pharma to do well in midcap pharma space: Sharmila Joshi

ET Now caught up with Sharmila Joshi, Co-Head PCG Sales, Emkay Global Financial Services, to get her views on the outlook of Torrent Pharma.

You have Torrent Pharma as one of your picks. It has entered into an alliance with AstraZeneca. It has moved into the branded generic space. We don’t have too many deals, but look at the way that stock is shooting. Do you think it’s a big trigger even though the details are not yet?

Yes. We will need to get the details on this one but the reason why we like the stock or even Unichem, for instance, is that we are now increasingly looking at stocks where the domestic side of the business is good. In these stocks, you are seeing a performance which is better than the market and you are seeing their ability to be able to ramp up or have certain orders like Panacea Biotec. These are the interesting stories in midcap pharma which will do well.
