Top reasons why rice stocks will be in demand this year

In a chat with ET Now, Sudip Bandyopadhyay, President, Destimoney Securities, shares his views on the reasons why rice stocks will have a great run at the stock market. Excerpts:

ET Now: What is your view on the rice stocks?

Sudip Bandyopadhyay: There are two-three factors: 1) There is the inventory gain, and 2) The rupee depreciation.

Most of these companies are exporting significantly; they will benefit from the currency depreciation as well.

Global rice prices have been increasing because of Thailand crop problem. Hence, most of these factors and macro economic factors are favouring the rice companies. This is going to be a good year for them.
