NEW DELHI: The Nifty was witnessing a lackluster session on Thursday with negative bias on the settlement day of July F&O series. Realty, capital goods, metals and IT sectors led the decline while FMCG sector edged higher.

“The index has violated its 100-DMA which was placed at levels around 5166 and tested its support zone of 5085 where the 50 & 200-DMA is placed,” Sujit Deodhar, Head-Technical Analyst at Wellworth Share & Stock broking Ltd, said.

Deodhar is of the view that the expiry is likely to take place somewhere around 5100 levels with high volatility and choppiness.

At 11:20 a.m.; the 50-share Nifty Index was at 5,101.70, down 8.2 points or 0.16 percent. It touched a high of 5,126.30 and a low of 5,093.75 today.

The Sensex was at 16,826.99, down 19.86 points or 0.12 per cent. It touched a high of 16,899.77 and a low of 16,800.35 today.
