Stocks in the media sector was quite battered for quite some time: Sajiv Dhawan

In a chat with ET Now, SajivDhawan, MD, JV Capital Services, shares his views on media stocks.

ET Now: What would you do with media right now -- the likes of Den Networks, the distribution companies, also the broadcast companies, Zee Entertainment for that matter?

Sajiv Dhawan: It is not a sector that we follow too aggressively. The stocks like Zee have their performance and again whatever news flow had to come out has been there and lot of it has already been discounted in the stocks and the stocks in the sector was quite battered for quite some time. So again a decent set of results from the companies and a lot speculative interest is likely to come back.

In the short term, may be some momentum but I would prefer to stick to the sectors where there is least some fundamentals in case there is a correction in the markets that stocks like media can fall off quite sharply again. If the markets take a turn for the worst over the next few weeks if in case the RBI governor does not follow through with some rate cuts and if the budget disappoints in the next month or so.
